ANNUAL REPORT FOR ELIZABETH FOUNDATION - MAY 2015 - MAY 2016
OVERVIEW
The annual report covers all activities of our foundation between May 2014 and May 2015. Our activities within the last one year were carefully planned, outlined, funded, implemented, monitored, and evaluated following the objectives of these various projects,programmes and schemes. The foundation planned lots of initiative programmes, events, projects and schemes for her members, but due to the some challenges was unable to implement/organized these programmes.
PROJECTS/PROGRAMMES/SCHEMES
Health scheme:
Health-care scheme was initiated for our members (widows, orphans, destitute and the less privileged) and also implemented by the social welfare department of our noble foundation.

Objectives of the scheme
To give medical attention/treatment to our members.
To enhance general health status of our members.
To identify various health challenges faced by members and equally recommend appropriate medication.
To control mortality rate within members.
Challenges
The following were the challenges suffered during implementation of this health care scheme:
- Finance
- Inadequate medical equipment by the medical team
- Time constraint
Solutions
The major challenge suffered was finance. Our foundation made use of the available fund allocated for the health-care scheme for the year, even with the fact that it was not sufficient for the scheme. The scheme also had the challenge of inadequate medical equipment due to unavailability of these equipments as at when needed. Time constraint was equally a challenge due to the large turnout of members for the exercise.
Success Stories
At the end of the exercise, we achieved the objectives of the scheme. Our members were happy and excited for such a timely scheme. During the exercise various ailments were discovered and treated with appropriate medications/treatments.

Empowerment scheme
In line with our vision to alleviate the plight of these widows, our foundation equally initiated an empowerment scheme. The scheme was coordinated by the social welfare department where widows were given various empowerments in areas of interest.

- Raw food stuffs
- Grinding machine
- Saloon.
- Plastics and kitchen utensils
- Palm oil and kerosene business

Objectives of the scheme
- To alleviate the plight of our members.
- To create job opportunities through various empowerment programme thereby building opportunities for comfort and better living.
- To eradicate poverty and the stressful lifestyle of our members
- To achieve a psychological and sociological stability of our members
- Assist our members to participate in global development
- To achieve self dependence and also boost their economical status.
Challenges
The major challenge suffered during empowerment exercise is finance. Majority of our members were enlisted for empowerment but the available funds was insufficient for the exercise.
Inadequate expertise/professionalism in the identified business interest. Leading the foundation to organized various workshops.
Business location and marketing channels.
Solutions
The tasks were enormous and demanding following the objectives of the scheme and the positive responses of our members towards the exercise. Our foundation embarked on review of the allocated budget for empowerment scheme, which led to increase in our total budget for the year
Some of our members were not skillful in their various identified business areas. This led our foundation to organize skills acquisitions and entrepreneurial development programme for members.
A strategic business location were also suggested to various beneficiaries and marketing channels.
Success Stories
At the end of the exercise, we were able to achieve the objectives of the scheme. Our members were happy and excited for such a timely scheme. During the exercise all members went home with smile, following the implementation of the empowerment scheme.

Education: Scholarship Scheme
In line with our vision to alleviate the plight of orphans, destitute, less privileged, our foundation equally initiated a scholarship scheme. The scheme was facilitated by the social welfare department where lots of orphans, destitute, less privileged were enlisted for various scholarships in different categories ranging from nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary institution.

Objectives of the scheme
- To eradicate illiteracy.
- To raise leaders that will contribute positively to global development.
- To groom children that will be useful to themselves and their families.
- To eradicate poverty
- To raise children and youth that will fight corruption and also foster unity among citizens.
Challenges
The major challenge suffered during the scholarship scheme is finance. Due to the large number of the orphans enlisted for the scholarship scheme and the standard schools we enrolled them into, the allocated funds for the scheme was insufficient for the exercise.
Inadequate accommodation suffered by the beneficiaries.
Solutions
The tasks were enormous and demanding following the objectives of the scheme and the number of children enlisted for the exercise. Our foundation embarked on review of the allocated budget for the scholarship scheme, which led to increase in our total budget for the year.
The standards of accommodation given to the beneficiaries were equally improved. Thereby achieving a more conducive atmosphere/environment for learning.
Success Stories
Knowing fully that educational scholarship is a long term exercise and human investment. Our foundation has produced some graduate from various Nigerian universities. Moreover, most of the orphans enlisted for this very scheme are now graduates and some seeking admission into the university.

Training/seminar and workshop
In line with our vision to alleviate the plight of the widows, our foundation equally initiated a skills acquisitions and entrepreneurial development training and workshop to educate them in the area of their business interest. The exercise lasted for about a week, where the services of professionals and facilitators were engaged for proper facilitation and orientation. The scheme was coordinated by the social welfare department.

Objectives of the exercise
To alleviate the plight of our members.
To educate and give maximum orientation in line with business interest of the beneficiaries.
To eradicate poverty among members.
To educate and establish vocational centre to care for members.
Assist our members to participate in global development
To achieve self dependence and also boost their economical status.
Challenges
In this exercise, consultancy fee the major challenge suffered was which was on the high side.
Solutions
Following the objectives of the training, quality, versatility and professionalism of the facilitators, the management of our foundation embarked on the training irrespective of the fee.
Success Stories
At the end of the exercise, we were able to achieve the objectives of the scheme. Our members were happy and excited for such a training and workshop. After the exercise each member went home with certificate of attendance.

Accommodation/rent
The foundation also initiated accommodation/rent scheme for all our members. In this scheme each widow, less privileged and orphans were entitled to an accommodation to ensure their security and comfort.

The major challenge suffered during this scheme is finance.
Due to the massive accommodation/rent need, most members were unable to secure the kind of accommodation they desired/applied for.
Solutions
We were able to sort all members out as far as accommodation issues were concerned through the available funds.
Success Stories
At the end of the exercise, we were able to achieve the objectives of the scheme. Members were grateful to the foundation for coming to their rescue.

Staff Salary and Benefits
Since inception and operation of this foundation, we have being able to pay the salaries and benefits of all staff, from top management to the least staff. This is to serve as a motivational tool for maximum productivity in their various day to day activities. The foundation has consistently worked in line with the policies in accordance with its foundation’s constitution. All benefits both in cash and in kind were duly paid/granted to all staff as entitled.

Our staff are doing well and still desiring to be more productive through the various initiated trainings organized for all staff.

Annual Office Rent/Maintenance
Since inception and operation of this foundation, we have being able to pay our annual rent and general maintenance of our offices. This task has being enormous and stressful but the foundation has no option since we are yet to secure our own permanent office.

SUMMARY
At the end of the whole schemes and programmes initiated/planned for the foundation, we were able to implement the whole programmes not minding the fact that, the budgeted figure for the year was exceeded and these led to stretch in our finance.
CONCLUSION
Programmes highlighted and aforementioned has invariably added vigor to the stance of the foundation in a geometric manner.
